Did you know that 150 years ago, eight visionary women stood on a train platform in Montreal to welcome young women arriving from the countryside in search of a better future – and helped them find housing and employment?
It was in this context of social and industrial transformation that the YWCA Montreal was founded in 1875. Today, that same spirit of solidarity lives on thanks to your support, which helps break isolation, provide compassionate listening, human-centred guidance, and a safe space where women can feel secure.
